Berthe Arm

Berthe Arm wurde am 15. Juni 1927 als zweites Kind von Mendel und Mindla Arm in Paris geboren. Sie wuchs mit sechs Geschwistern in der französischen Hauptstadt heran. Im Juni 1940 besetzte die Wehrmacht Frankreich. Fortan waren auch Berthe und ihre Familie von einer Reihe antijüdischer Maßnahmen der Besatzer betroffen. Im März 1942 begann die Deportation der in Frankreich lebenden Juden. Bei einer Verhaftungsaktion am 10. Februar 1943 wurde Berthe festgenommen und drei Tage später von Mitgliedern der SS nach Auschwitz deportiert. Berthe Arm war 15 Jahre alt.

Berthe Arm was born in Paris on the 15th of June 1927, as the second child of Mendel and Mindla Arm. She grew up with six siblings in the French capital. In June 1940 the Wehrmacht occupied France. Berthe and her family were once subjected to a series of anti-Jewish measures. In March 1942 the German occupying authority began deporting the Jews living in France. During a mass arrest on the 10th of February 1943, Berthe was arrested and deported to Auschwitz three days later by the SS. Berthe Arm was 15 years old.
