Léa Frandji

Léa Frandji wurde am 11. April 1896 in Konstantinopel, dem heutigen Istanbul, geboren. Sie heiratete und lebte mit ihrem Ehemann in Paris. In der französischen Hauptstadt kamen zwischen 1925 und 1930 die drei Töchter des Ehepaares zur Welt. Im Sommer 1940 besetzte die Wehrmacht Frankreich. Zwei Jahre später verhafteten Gestapo-Männer und französische Polizisten Léa Frandji und ihre drei Töchter und brachten sie in das Durchgangslager Drancy. Am 17. August 1942 wurden sie in einen Zug zusammen mit über 500 jüdischen Kindern nach Auschwitz deportiert und ermordet. Léa Frandji war 46 Jahre alt.

Léa Frandji was born on the 11th of April 1896 in Constantinople, today Istanbul. She married and lived with her husband in Paris. Their three daughters were born in the French capital between 1925 and 1930. In the summer of 1940 the Wehrmacht occupied France. Two years later Gestapo men and French police arrested Léa Frandji and her three daughters and took them to the Drancy transit camp. On the 17th of August 1942 they were deported to Auschwitz in a train together with more than 500 Jewish children, and murdered. Léa Frandji was 46 years old.
