Feiga Zaks

Feiga Zaks lived in Skuodas, a small Lithuanian town near the Latvian border. In 1925 she married Azriel Zaks, who was blind. They were the same age. A few years later the couple had a son. Shortly after German troops occupied the town, Lithuanian nationalists murdered Feiga Zaks’ husband. She herself was taken with their son Shmuel to the village of Dimitravas, 40 kilometers away. In December 1944, Russian troops liberated Dimitravas and found the remains of 31 children, 94 youth and 385 women. One of the murdered women was Feiga Zaks.
