Matla Ajzykowicz wurde am 30. Mai 1889 im polnischen Radom, südlich von Warschau geboren. Wahrscheinlich zog sie schon vor dem Krieg in die Großstadt Lodz. Im Frühjahr 1940 musste Matla Ajzykowicz in das Lodzer Ghetto ziehen. Unzählige der dort Eingeschlossenen fielen dem Hunger und verschiedensten Krankheiten zum Opfer. Am 30. Juni 1942 starb Matla Ajzykowicz in einem Ghettokrankenhaus an Unterernährung und einer angeblichen Herzschwäche. Sie war 53 Jahre alt.

Matla Ajzykowicz was born on 30 May 1889 in the Polish city of Radom, south of Warsaw. It’s likely that she had moved to the city of Lodz before the outbreak of war. In the spring of 1940 Matla Ajzykowicz had to move into the Lodz ghetto. Untold numbers of people fell victim to hunger and disease there. On 30 June 1942, Matla Ajzykowicz died in a ghetto hospital of malnutrition, and supposedly of a weak heart. She was 53 years old.
