Riwa Most

Hausfrau, geboren 1888 in Raseiniai/Raseinen, ermordet 1943 in Ereda (AL von Vaivara)

Riwa Most lebte in Jurbarkas, einer heute litauischen Kleinstadt am Fluss Memel. Sie heiratete und bekam mit ihrem Mann Israel mehrere Kinder. Als die deutsche Wehrmacht im Juni 1941 Litauen besetzte, war Riwa Most bereits Witwe und lebte wahrscheinlich in Kaunas. Im Oktober 1943 wurde sie gemeinsam mit einer Tochter und einer Enkelin in das Konzentrationslager Vaivara verschleppt, wo sie im Außenlager Ereda Bäume fällen musste. Die schwere Zwangsarbeit hielt sie nicht lange durch. Riwa Most wurde noch 1943 als »arbeitsunfähig« ausgesondert und erschossen.

Riwa Most was born in the town of Jurbarkas on the River Neman, today in Lithuania. She and her husband, Israel, had several children. When the German Wehrmacht occupied Lithuania in June 1941, Riwa Most was already a widow and probably had moved to Kovno. In October 1943, she was deported together with a daughter and a granddaughter to the Vaivara concentration camp, where she was forced to fell trees in the Ereda satellite camp. She was unable to withstand the hard forced labour for long. In 1943, Riwa Most was selected as “unfit for labour” and shot.
