Matla Ordynans

Matla Ordynans wurde 1881 in Radom, einer polnischen Stadt südlich von Warschau geboren. Sie war Hausfrau und lebte in Lodz. Als die deutschen Besatzungsbehörden im Frühjahr 1940 ein Ghetto einrichteten, musste auch Matla Ordynans dorthin umsiedeln. Die Lebensbedingungen im Ghetto waren katastrophal. Neben dem Hunger führten vor allem die sich ausbreitenden Krankheiten zum Tod vieler Eingeschlossener. Auch Matla Ordynans erkrankte und wurde in ein Ghettokrankenhaus eingeliefert. Am 20. Februar 1942 starb sie dort im Alter von 60 Jahren.

Matla Ordynans was born in 1881 in Radom, a Polish city south of Warsaw. She was a housewife and lived in Lodz. When the German occupation authorities set up a ghetto in the spring of 1940, Matla Ordynans had to move there. The conditions in the ghetto were catastrophic. In addition to hunger, the spread of disease led to the death of many of those confined there. Matla Ordynans, too, fell ill and was taken to a ghetto hospital. She died there on 20 February 1942 at the age of 60.
