Boris Himmelhoch

Boris Himmelhoch wurde am 26. August 1905 in der heute lettischen Stadt Tukums geboren. Er war der Sohn von Etta und Wulf Himmelhoch und alleinstehend. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges kämpfte Boris Himmelhoch als Soldat in der Roten Armee. Während deutsche und lettische SS-Männer beinahe alle jüdischen Einwohner seiner Heimatstadt Tukums bei Massenerschießungen ermordeten, starb Boris Himmelhoch am 13. September 1942 bei der Verteidigung Leningrads. Er wurde 37 Jahre alt.

Boris Himmelhoch was born on August 26th 1905 in the Latvian town of Tukums. He was the son of Etta and Wulf Himmelhoch, and was single. During the Second World War, Boris Himmelhoch fought as a soldier in the Red Army. While German and Latvian SS-men were murdering almost all the Jewish inhabitants of his hometown, Tukums, in a mass shooting operation, Boris Himmelhoch died on September 13th 1942 in the defense of Leningrad. He was 37 years old.
