Abraham Gepner wurde am 19. Juni 1872 in Warschau geboren. Er war Kaufmann und Inhaber einer metallverarbeitenden Fabrik. Abraham Gepner und seine Frau Stefania unterstützen mit ihrem Vermögen mehrere gemeinnützige Organisationen. Im September 1939 besetzte die deutsche Wehrmacht Warschau. Ein Jahr später errichteten die Besatzer ein Ghetto. Abraham Gepner wurde Mitglied des Judenrates und Direktor der Lebensmittelversorgungsstelle. Er unterstützte vor allem die Kranken- und Waisenhäuser der Stadt. Am 3. Mai 1943, während des Warschauer Ghettoaufstandes, erschossen SS- und Polizeieinheiten Abraham Gepner in einem Bunker. Er war 70 Jahre alt.

Abraham Gepner was born in Warsaw on June 19 1872. He was a merchant and owned a metalworking factory. Abraham Gepner and his wife, Stefania, used their wealth to support several non-profit organizations. In September 1939 the German Wehrmacht occupied Warsaw. One year later, the occupiers established a ghetto. Abraham Gepner joined the Jewish council and became its director for food provisions. He was especially dedicated to helping the city’s hospitals and orphanages. On May 3 1943, during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, SS and police units shot and killed Abraham Gepner in a bunker. He was 70 years old.
