Misha Woronowski

Arzt, geboren 1902 in Lida, ermordet 1943 in Majdanek (KZ)

Misha Woronowski wurde 1902 in Lida geboren, einer polnischen Kleinstadt im heutigen Weißrussland. Er heiratete und zog mit seiner Frau Frieda und zwei Kindern in ein neues Wohnviertel in Lida. Nach dem Einmarsch der deutschen Wehrmacht im Juni 1941 musste die Familie ins Ghetto ziehen. Kurz vor ihrer Deportation im September 1943 konnten die Woronowskis ihre Tochter Mira bei Nachbarn verstecken. Die übrige Familie wurde nach Majdanek deportiert und dort mit Giftgas ermordet. Misha Woronowski war etwa 41 Jahre alt.

Misha Woronowski was born in 1902 in Lida, then a Polish town, today located in Belarus. He married and moved with his wife Frieda and two children to a new housing district in Lida. After the German Army invaded in June 1941 the family had to move into the ghetto. Just before their deportation in September 1943, the Woronowskis were able to hide their daughter Mira with neighbours. The rest of the family was deported to Majdanek and murdered there with poison gas. Misha Woronowski was about 41 years old.
