Moshe Alfandari

Friseur, geboren 1907 in Saloniki/Thessaloníki, ermordet 1943 in Auschwitz-Birkenau (VL)

Moshe Alfandari wurde 1907 als Sohn von Shmuel und Bienvenida Alfandari in Saloniki geboren. Er war Friseur und hatte mit seiner Frau Miriam zwei Kinder. Im April 1941 eroberte die deutsche Wehrmacht Saloniki. Die deutsche Verwaltung gaukelte den jüdischen Bewohnern Salonikis im Frühjahr und Sommer 1943 vor, dass sie in der Nähe der polnischen Stadt Krakau zur Arbeit eingesetzt würden. Alle Juden mussten deshalb Bahnfahrkarten dritter Klasse erwerben. Die Züge fuhren jedoch ins Vernichtungslager Auschwitz-Birkenau. Von Moshe Alfandari hat man nie wieder etwas gehört.

Moshe Alfandari was born in 1907 to Shmuel and Bienvenida Alfandari, in the city of Thessaloniki. He was a hairdresser and had two children with his wife, Miriam. In April 1941, the German Wehrmacht occupied Thessaloniki. In the spring and summer of 1943, the German administration led the Jews of Thessaloniki to believe they would be sent to work near the Polish city of Cracow. All Jews were thus forced to buy third class railway tickets. But the trains actually brought them to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Moshe Alfandari was never heard from again.
