Martin-Moric Gros

Landwirt und Händler, geboren 1881 in Belgrad, ermordet 1942 in Banjica (KZ in Belgrad)

Martin-Moric Gros wurde 1881 als Sohn von Peter und Katharina Gros in der serbischen Hauptstadt Belgrad geboren. Er war Landwirt und Händler und lebte mit seiner Frau Žana in der Vasina 17. Im April 1941 besetzte die Wehrmacht Serbien. Die deutschen Besatzer enteigneten umgehend alle jüdischen Kaufleute und Fabrikbesitzer. Nach einem serbischen Volksaufstand in Sommer 1941 trieben sie die Vernichtung der Juden in Serbien voran. Martin-Moric Gros wurde ins Konzentrationslager Banjica verschleppt. Ein Erschießungskommando der Gestapo ermordete ihn dort am 28. Mai 1942. Martin-Moric Gros war 61 Jahre alt.

Martin-Moric Gros, the son of Petr and Katharina Gros, was born in 1881 in the Serbian capital Belgrade. He was a farmer and tradesman and lived with his wife Žana at 17 Vasina street. In April 1941, the German Wehrmacht occupied Serbia. The occupiers immediately confiscated the property of Jewish merchants and industrialists. After a Serbian popular uprising in the summer 1941, they sped up their extermination of the Jews in Serbia. Martin-Moric Gros was taken to Banjica concentration camp. A Gestapo firing squad murdered him there on 28 May 1942. Martin-Moric Gros was 61 years old.
