Moshe Israel Seibald wurde am 21. Januar 1875 im ostgalizischen Sołotwina geboren. 1901 heiratete er Perla Malie Greibach. Bis zum Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs arbeitete er in der Gemeindeverwaltung der nächstgrößeren Stadt Stanisławów. Nach der deutschen Besetzung am 26. Juli 1941 ernannte die deutsche Verwaltung Moshe Israel Seibald zum ersten Judenratsvorsitzenden der 40.000 Menschen fassenden Gemeinde. Er floh jedoch aus der Stadt, als Gestapo und SS im Oktober 1941 mit der systematischen Vernichtung der Juden von Stanisławów begannen. Auf der Flucht wurde Moshe Israel Seibald wahrscheinlich von deutschen Soldaten oder ukrainischen Kollaborateuren erschossen. Er war 66 Jahre alt.

Moshe Israel Seibald was born on January 21, 1875 in Sołotwina, a village not far from Stanisławów in East Galicia. In 1901 he married Perla Malie Greibach. Until the outbreak of the Second World War, he worked in the city administration of Stanisławów. After the Wehrmacht occupied this city in the southeast of Poland on July 26th, 1941, the German administration appointed Moshe Israel Seibald as the first head of a Jewish council created to oversee a community of some 40,000 people. But he fled the city after the Gestapo and SS began their systematic extermination of the Jews of Stanisławów in October 1941. It is likely that German soldiers or their Ukrainian collaborators shot him while he was trying to escape. Moshe Israel Seibald was 66 years old.
