Internist, geboren 1890 in Kuty, ermordet 1942 in Stanislau/Stanisławów/Iwano-Frankiwsk

David Tillinger wurde 1890 im ostgalizischen Dorf Kuty geboren. Mit seiner Ehefrau, der Ärztin Dr. Bonia Tillinger, lebte und arbeitete der promovierte Internist in der nächstgrößeren Stadt Stanisławów. Das Paar hatte zwei Kinder. Am 26. Juli 1941 wurde Stanisławów von der Wehrmacht übernommen. SS und Gestapo begannen umgehend mit Repressionsmaßnahmen gegen die 40.000 Juden. Dr. David Tillinger musste fortan im Ghetto leben. 1942 ermordeten die Besatzer zehntausende Juden durch Erschießungen und Deportationen in das Vernichtungslager Bełżec. Eines der Opfer war David Tillinger. Er wurde 52 Jahre alt.

David Tillinger was born in 1890 in the Eastern Galician village of Kuty. An internist, he lived and worked with his wife, Bonia Tillinger – also a doctor – in the largest nearby city, Stanisławów. The couple had two children. The Wehrmacht occupied Stanisławów on July 26th, 1941. The SS and Gestapo immediately launched repressive measures against Stanisławów’s 40,000 Jews. Dr. David Tillinger now had to move into the ghetto. In 1942 the occupiers murdered tens of thousands of Jews by shooting them or deporting them to the Bełżec extermination camp. One of the victims was David Tillinger. He was 52 years old.
