Dawid Buchman

David Buchman wurde in Pajeczno geboren, einer Kleinstadt zwischen Kattowitz und Lodz. In Pajeczno heiratete er seine Frau Ester, mit der er fünf Kinder hatte - vier Söhne und eine Tochter. Die Familie zog nach Lodz, wo David Buchman als selbstständiger Kaufmann arbeitete. 1939 besetzte die deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt. Anfang 1940 zwangen die Besatzer alle Juden der Stadt ins Ghetto. Zwei Jahre lang überlebte David Buchman den Hunger, die Kälte und die Krankheiten des Ghettos. Er starb 1942 mit 55 Jahren, vermutlich auf dem Transport zur Vernichtungsstätte Kulmhof.

David Buchman was born in Pajeczno, a small city between Katowice and Lodz. There he married his wife Ester, and they had five children - four sons and a daughter. The family moved to Lodz, where David Buchman worked as an independent merchant. In 1939, the German Army occupied the city. At the beginning of 1940, they forced all the Jews in the city to move into the ghetto. For two years, David Buchman endured the hunger, cold and diseases in the ghetto. He died in 1942 at the age of 55, probably while being transported to the extermination site Chelmno.
