Ben Zion Dantsig

Ben Zion Dantsig wurde 1906 im litauischen Butrimonys als Sohn von Avraham und Pesha Dantsig geboren. Er stammte aus einer wohlhabenden Familie und handelte mit Schmieröl und Kerosin. Mit seiner Frau Sara Batia und drei Kindern lebte Ben Zion Dantsig in Kaišiadorys. Der jüngste Sohn Itzhak war gerade geboren, als im Juni 1941 die deutsche Wehrmacht einmarschierte. Am 26. August 1941 erschossen litauische Hilfspolizisten unter Aufsicht des SS-Einsatzkommandos 3 nahezu alle Juden der Stadt. Unter den Ermordeten befand sich wahrscheinlich auch Ben Zion Dantsig. Er war 35 Jahre alt.

Ben Zion Dantsig was born in 1906 to Avraham and Pesha Dantsig, in the Lithuanian town of Butrimonys. He came from a well-off family and ran a business as a dealer of machine oil and kerosine. Ben Zion Dantsig lived with his wife Sara Batia and their three children in Koshedar [[Kaišiadorys]]. Their youngest son, Itzhak, was newborn when the German Wehrmacht occupied the town in June 1941. On 26 August 1941, Lithuanian auxiliary police, under supervision of SS-Mobile Killing Unit 3, shot nearly all the town's Jews. Ben Zion Dantsig was most likely among those murdered. He was 35 years old.
