Yosef Chazan

Yosef Chazan lebte in der polnischen Kleinstadt Szczurowice, nahe Lemberg. Sein Vater David war der rituelle Schlachter für die Stadt und die umliegenden Dörfer. Im Sommer 1941 marschierten deutsche Truppen ein. Vermutlich musste Yosef Chazan wie alle Juden der Stadt im Herbst 1942 in ein Durchgangsghetto in Sokal oder Brody umsiedeln. Hier verliert sich seine Spur.

Yosef Chazan lived in the small Polish town of Szczurowice, near Lwów. His father David was the kosher butcher for the town and outlying villages. In the summer of 1941, German troops took over the town. It is likely that Yosef Chazan was forced to move into a transit ghetto in Sokal or Brody in the autumn of 1942, together with the rest of the town's Jews. From that point, there is no further trace of him.
