Mania Khaitman

Mania Khaitman lebte als Tochter von Leizer und Rakhel Khaitman im weißrussischen Bobruisk. Am 29. Juli 1941 nahm die Deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt ein. Wenige Tage später errichteten die Besatzer ein Ghetto, in dem die Juden fortan leben mussten. Im September und Oktober 1941 erschossen Mitglieder des Einsatzkommandos 8 in mehreren Aktionen über 2.000 Juden. Nach nur wenigen Monaten Besatzungszeit hatten die Mordkommandos alle Juden aus Bobruisk ermordet. Mania und ihre Eltern waren unter den Opfern. Mania Kheitman wurde 11 Jahre alt.

Mania Khaitman the daughter of Leizer and Rakhel Khaitman lived in the Belarusian city of Bobruisk. On 29 July 1941, the German Wehrmacht captured the city. Days later, the occupiers set up a ghetto, and immediately forced the towns Jewish residences to move in. In September and October 1941, members of Mobile Killing Commando 8 murdered more than 2,000 Jews in several mass shooting operations. After only a few months of the occupation, the commandos had killed all the Jews of Bobruisk. Mania and her parents were among the victims. Mania Khaitman was 11 years old.
