Srul Szon

Srul Szon wurde in Warschau geboren, das damals das Zentrum des europäischen Judentums war. Er wuchs in der polnischen Hauptstadt auf und heiratete hier auch seine Frau Zosza. 1928 bekamen die beiden eine Tochter: Renia, zwei Jahre später folgte ein Sohn: Shlomo. Die Kinder gingen noch zur Schule, als die deutsche Wehrmacht 1939 Warschau besetzte und die Erfassung, Ghettoisierung und Ermordung der polnischen Juden begann. Auch Srul Szon und seine Familie wurden umgebracht. Die genauen Todesumstände sind nicht bekannt.

Srul Szon was born and raised in Warsaw, then the centre of European Jewry. Here he married Zosza, and in 1928 they had a daughter, Renia, followed by a son, Shlomo, two years later. The children were still in school when the German Army occupied Warsaw in 1939 and registered the Polish Jews, forced them to live in ghettos and then murdered them. Srul Szon and his family were among those killed. The exact circumstances of his death are unknown.
