Rufa Vilenchik lebte in Sewastopol auf der Krim, im Südwesten der Sowjetunion. Am 1. Juli 1942 besetzte die Deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt. In ihrem Gefolge war die Einsatzgruppe D, deren Kommandos sofort mit der Ermordung der Sewastopoler Juden begann. Bereits einige Tage nach dem Einmarsch erschoss das Sonderkommando 11a etwa 30 jüdische Männer. Über 4000 Juden wurden am 12. Juli 1942 in Gaswagen erstickt oder in den darauf folgenden Tagen erschossen. Unter den Opfern war auch Rufa Vilenchik.

Rufa Vilenchik lived in Sevastopol in the Crimea, in the south-western Soviet Union. On 1 July 1942 the German Wehrmacht occupied the city. The troupes were followed by Mobile Killing Unit D, which immediately commenced with killing the Jews of Sevastopol. Days after the city was captured, Special Commando 11a shot about 30 Jewish men. More than 4,000 Jews were suffocated in gas vans on July 12, 1942, or shot dead on the days that followed. Among the victims was Rufa Vilenchik.
