Vera Klein

Vera Klein, die Tochter von Zóltan und Aranka Klein wurde 1932 in Budapest geboren. Sie lebte mit ihren Eltern in Kápolnásnyék, einem kleinen Dorf am Fuße des Velence-Gebirges. Als im Frühjahr 1944 deutsche Truppen das Land besetzten, begann unter dem Kommando von Adolf Eichmann die systematische Ermordung der Juden. Mit Hilfe ungarischer Polizisten deportierte die SS die rund 100 jüdischen Einwohner von Kápolnásnyék in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz. Fast alle wurden unmittelbar nach ihrer Ankunft mit Giftgas erstickt. Unter den Opfern war wahrscheinlich auch Vera Klein. Sie wurde 12 Jahre alt.

Vera Klein, daughter of Zóltan and Aranka Klein, was born in 1932 in Budapest. She lived with her parents in Kápolnásnyék, a small village at the foot of the Velence Mountaints. When German troops occupied the country in the spring of 1944, the systematic murder of the Jews began, under the command of Adolf Eichmann. With the help from Hungarian police, the SS deported the 100 Jewish residents of Kápolnásnyék to the Auschwitz extermination camp. Almost all of them were asphyxiated with poison gas soon after their arrival. It is probable that Vera Klein was among the victims. She was 12 years old.
