Margit Mauthner

Margit Mauthner lebte in Kápolnásnyék, einem kleinen ungarischen Dorf am Fuße des Velence-Gebirges. Als im Frühjahr 1944 deutsche Truppen das Land besetzten, begann unter dem Kommando von Adolf Eichmann die systematische Ermordung der Juden. Mit Hilfe ungarischer Polizisten deportierte die SS die rund 100 jüdischen Einwohner von Kápolnásnyék in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz. Fast alle wurden unmittelbar nach ihrer Ankunft mit Giftgas erstickt. Unter den Opfern war wahrscheinlich auch Margit Mauthner.

Margit Mauthner lived in Kápolnásnyék, a small Hungarian village at the foot of the Velence Mountains. When German troops occupied the country in the spring of 1944, the systematic murder of the Jews began, under the command of Adolf Eichmann. With the help from Hungarian police, the SS deported the 100 Jewish residents of Kápolnásnyék to the Auschwitz extermination camp. Almost all of them were asphyxiated with poison gas soon after their arrival. It is probable that Margit Mauthner was among the victims.
