Katalin Rothauser

Katalin Rothauser lebte in Győnk, einer kleinen ungarischen Stadt inmitten des Tolnaer Hügellands, in der 163 Juden lebten. Im Frühjahr 1944 besetzten deutsche Truppen das Land. Damit begann das systematische Morden. Die Juden von Győnk wurden Anfang Juni von SS und Polizeikräften in ein Sammellager nahe der Stadtgrenze verschleppt und von dort weiter in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz deportiert. Die SS erstickte fast alle gleich nach ihrer Ankunft mit Zyklon B. Unter den Ofern war auch Katalin Rothauser.

Katalin Rothauser lived in Győnk, a small Hungarian town in the Tolna Hills, which was home to 163 Jews. German troops occupied the country in the spring of 1944. This marked the start of the systematic murder. In early June, SS and police forces deported the Jews of Győnk to a collection camp near the edge of town. From there they were deported to the Auschwitz Extermination Camp. The SS asphyxiated almost all of them with Zyklon B, right after their arrival. Among the victims was Katalin Rothauser.
