Imre Erdős

Imre Erdős wurde am 28. Januar 1894 in Balatonendréd, einem Dorf am Plattensee geboren. Im Frühjahr 1944 besetzte die Deutsche Wehrmacht Ungarn. Kurz danach verschleppte die SS Imre Erdős quer durch Europa bis nach Rehmsdorf in ein Außenlager des Konzentrationslagers Buchenwald in Deutschland. Dort musste er für die Braunkohle-Benzin AG Zwangsarbeit leisten. Am 23. Februar 1945 fiel Imre Erdős den unmenschlichen Bedingungen dort zum Opfer. Er war 51 Jahre alt.

Imre Erdős was born on 28 January 1894 in Balatonendréd, a village on Lake Balaton. In the spring of 1944 the German Wehrmacht occupied Hungary. Soon afterwards, the SS deported Imre Erdős across Europe, he ended up in Rehmsdorf, a satellite of the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. There, he was forced to work for the Braunkohle-Benzin company. On 23 February 1945 Imre Erdős died as a result of the inhumane conditions there. He was 51 years old.
