Maye Dornboym

Maye Dornboym wurde 1901 in dem polnischen Shtetl Luboml geboren. Sie heiratete Yosef Dornboym und gründete eine Familie. Zwischen 1927 und 1932 bekam das Paar drei Kinder. Im Sommer 1941 besetzte die deutsche Wehrmacht den Heimatort von Maye Dornboym. Noch im selben Jahr wurde sie von den Besatzern gezwungen, zusammen mit den anderen Juden des Shtetls und der Umgebung in ein Ghetto zu ziehen. Im Oktober des nächsten Jahres erschossen Gestapoangehörige und ukrainische Polizisten die über 8.000 Ghettobewohner. Sehr wahrscheinlich befand sich auch Maye Dornboym unter den Ermordeten.

Maye Dornboym was born in 1901 in the Polish shtetl, Luboml. She married Yosef Dornboym and thay started a family. Between 1927 and 1932, they had three children. In the summer of 1941 the German Wehrmacht occupied Maye Dornboym’s hometown. That same year the occupiers forced her to move into a ghetto with the other Jews of the shtetl and local area. In October of the following year Gestapo members and Ukrainian police shot the more than 8,000 ghetto inhabitants. It is most likely that Maye Dornboym was among the victims.
