Hermann Sobotki

Händler, geboren 1871 in Lipno (bei Włocławek)

Hermann Sobotki wurde am 26.02.1871 in Lipno geboren. Mit seiner Frau Margarete lebte er später in Halberstadt, im Harzvorland. Er war Geschäftsführer beim Kaufhaus Ebstein am Breiteweg. Am 25. November 1942 wurde das Ehepaar Sobotki über Magdeburg in das Ghettolager Theresienstadt deportiert. Eineinhalb Jahre überstand Hermann Sobotki die katastrophalen Lebensbedingungen dort bis er am 16. Mai 1944 nach Auschwitz deportiert wurde. Seither fehlt von ihm jede Spur.

Hermann Sobotki was born on 26 February 1871 in Lipno. He and his wife Margarete lived in Halberstadt, in the foothills of the Harz mountains, in Germany. He was the managing director of the Ebstein department store on Breiteweg street. On 25 November 1942 the Sobotkis were deported via Magdeburg to the Theresienstadt ghettocamp. Hermann Sobotki held out for one-and-a-half years under the catastrophic conditions there, until he was deported to Auschwitz on 16 May 1944. He was not seen again.
