Matitjahu Goldwasser wurde in Radzyń Podlaski geboren, einem polnischen Shtetl am Ufer des Bilka. Er war Buchhändler von Beruf und lebte mit Frau und Kind am zweiten Rynek Markt. Nach dem Überfall auf Polen im September 1939 besetzten deutsche Truppen die Stadt. Mehr als 2000 Juden aus Radzyń und Umgebung sperrten sie Ende 1940 in ein Ghetto. Am 22. September 1942 erschossen Polizeikräfte 200 Juden außerhalb der Stadt. Im Oktober lösten sie das Ghetto auf und deportierten die meisten seiner Bewohner nach Treblinka, wo sie sie mit Kohlenmonoxyd vergifteten. Von Matitjahu Goldwasser fehlt jede Spur.

Matitjahu Goldwasser was born in Radzyń Podlaski, a Polish shtetl on the banks of the River Bilka. He was a book salesman and lived with his wife and their child at second Rynek marketplace. German troops attacked Poland in September 1939, and occupied the shtetl. At the end of 1940 they forced the more than 2,000 Jews from Radzyń to move into a ghetto. On 22 September 1942 police shot 200 Jews outside the shtetl. In October they dissolved the ghetto and deported most of the inhabitants confined there to Treblinka, where they were poisoned with carbon monoxide. Matitjahu Goldwasser was not seen again.
