Aron Weichselbaum

Schüler, geboren 1923 in Kolbuszowa, ermordet 1943 in Kolbuszowa

Aron Weichselbaum wurde in Kolbuszowa geboren, einer Kleinstadt in den polnischen Vorkarpaten. Zusammen mit zwei Brüdern wuchs er in dem galizischen Schtetl auf. Aron war 16 Jahre alt, als am 8. September 1939 der erste deutsche Panzer in Kolbuszowa einrollte. Ab Juni 1941 gab es ein Ghetto, in das auch Aron und seine Familie ziehen mussten. Am 24. Juni 1942 wurden alle seine Bewohner in das Ghetto von Rzeszow deportiert und von dort in das Vernichtungslager Belzec, wo sie sofort mit Motorabgasen vergiftet wurde. Unter ihnen war wahrscheinlich auch der 20jährige Aron Weichselbaum.

Aron Weichselbaum was born and raised together with two brothers in Kolbuszowa, a Galician shtetl in the Polish foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. Aron was 16 years old when the first German tanks rolled in to Kolbuszowa in September 1939. As of June 1941 a ghetto was set up, and Aron and his family had to live there. On June 24th, 1942, all the Rzeszow ghetto residents were deported to the extermination camp of Belzec, where they were poisoned with exhaust fumes. It is likely that the 20-year-old Aron Weichselbaum was among them.
