Alain Gross

Alain Gross wurde am 29. Oktober 1943 in Bordeaux geboren. Frankreich war zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits drei Jahre von deutschen Truppen besetzt. Wahrscheinlich wurde die Familie Gross, wie viele andere Juden aus Bordeaux in der Nacht vom 10. auf den 11. Januar 1944 von deutscher Polizei und französischer Gendarmerie verhaftet und in das Durchgangslager Drancy verschleppt. Von hier aus wurde Alain am 20. Januar 1944 in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz deportiert und direkt nach seiner Ankunft mit Giftgas erstickt. Alain Gross war noch kein Jahr alt.

Alain Gross was born on 29 October 1943 in Bordeaux. France had been occupied by German troops for three years. It was probably on the night of 10- 11 January 1944 that the Gross family was arrested by German police and French gendarmes and taken to the Drancy transit camp, along with many other Jews from Bordeaux. Alain Gross was deported from there on 20 January 1944 to the Auschwitz extermination camp, where he was asphyxiated with poison gas upon arrival. Alain Gross was only a few months old.
