Sofja Lewina wurde 1924 in Rostow am Don im Süden der Sowjetunion geboren. Nach der zweiten militärischen Besetzung durch die deutsche Wehrmacht im Sommer 1942, begann die systematische Verfolgung der jüdischen Bevölkerung von Rostow. In einer am Stadtrand gelegenen Schlucht erschoss das SS-Einsatzkommando 10a im August 1942 einige Tausend Juden. Auch Sofja Lewina wurde Opfer der Massenerschießung. Sie war 18 Jahre alt.

Sofja Lewina was born in 1924 in Rostov-on-Don in the Southern Soviet Union. After the German Wehrmacht captured the city for the cecond time in the summer of 1942, the systematic persecution of the Jews of Rostov began.. In August 1942, SS mobile killing unit 10a shot several thousand Jews in a ravine on the outskirts of the city. Sofja Lewina was a victim of the mass shooting operation. She was 18 years old.
