Kiwa Graub

Kiwa Graub wurde 1904 in Przemyśl im heute polnischen Karpatenvorland geboren. Ein Drittel der Einwohner der Stadt waren Juden. Nach dem Einmarsch der Wehrmacht im September 1939 wurde der Fluss der Stadt zur Grenze zwischen der Sowjetunion und dem Deutschen Reich erklärt. Innerhalb von drei Tagen ermordeten Mitglieder des SS-Einsatzkommandos I und der Ersten Gebirgsdivision über 600 Juden. Unter ihnen war auch Kiwa Graub. Er wurde 35 Jahre alt.

Kiwa Graub was born in 1904 in Przemyśl, in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, today part of Poland. One third of the residents were Jews. After the Wehrmacht marched into the area in September 1939, the river that ran through the town was declared the border between the Soviet Union and the German Reich. Within three days, members of SS-mobile killing squad I and the First Mountain Division murdered more than 600 Jews. Among them was Kiwa Graub. He was 35 years old.
