Baruch Zilberblat

Baruch Zilberblat wurde in Pińsk geboren, einer polnischen Stadt am Fluss Prypjat im heutigen Weißrussland. Er war noch ein Kind, als am 4. Juli 1941 deutsche Truppen die Stadt besetzten. Einen Monat später begannen Massenerschießungen von Juden durch SS-Einheiten. Im Mai 1942 errichteten die Besatzer ein Ghetto, in dem die Familie fortan leben musste. Bis zum Ende des Jahres wurden alle Bewohner des Ghettos ermordet. Eines der Opfer war Baruch Zilberblat.

Baruch Zilberblat was born in Pińsk, a Polish town on the River Prypjat, today in Belarus. He lived there with his parents and his brother. He was still a small child when German troops occupied the town on 4 July 1941. One month later, SS troops began their mass shooting of Jews. In May 1942 the occupiers set up a ghetto, and the family immediately had to move there. By the end of the year all the people who had lived in the ghetto had been murdered. Baruch Zilberblat was among the victims.
