Schüler ermordet 1941 in unbekannt

Otto Wolf wurde in Jassy geboren. Seine Eltern, Ernestina und Jean Wolf, waren Händler. Otto wuchs zusammen mit seiner jüngeren Schwester in der Stadt im Norden Rumäniens heran. Am 29. Juni 1941 fand dort das bis dahin größte Pogrom Rumäniens statt. Mehrere Tausend Juden wurden auf das Gelände des Polizeiquartiers getrieben, wo rumänische und deutsche Soldaten auf sie schossen. Otto war unter den Überlebenden, die ohne Verpflegung in versiegelte Viehwaggons gesperrt und ziellos durch das Land gefahren wurden. Seitdem fehlt von dem damals 14-jährigen Otto Wolf jede Spur.

Otto Wolf was born in Iaşi. His parents, Ernestina and Jean Wolf, were merchants. Otto grew up with his younger sister in this city, located in northern Romania. On 29 June 1941 it was the scene of Romania’s most devastating pogrom to that point. Several thousand Jews were rounded up on the site of the police station, where Romanian and German soldiers shot at them. Otto was among the survivors; they were locked into cattle cars and transported through the country, with no provisions. 14-year-old Otto Wolf was not seen again.
