Fany Boruńska

Zahnärztin, geboren 1878 in unbekannt, ermordet 1942 in Kulmhof/Chełmno (VL)

Fany Boruńska wurde am 22. September 1878 geboren. Sie studierte Medizin und zog in die polnische Industriestadt Lodz, wo sie als Ärztin praktizierte. Anfang September 1939 besetzte die Wehrmacht die Stadt. Kurz danach begann die deutsche Verwaltung mit der Konzentration aller Juden im Armenviertel Bałuty. Auch Fany Boruńska musste im Ghetto leben. Sie wurde höchstwahrscheinlich am 13. Mai 1942 in das Vernichtungslager Kulmhof verschleppt und dort unmittelbar nach ihrer Ankunft mit Motorabgasen ermordet. Fany Boruńska war 64 Jahre alt.

Fany Boruńska was born on 22 September 1878. After earning a degree in medicine, she settled in the Polish industrial centre of Lodz, where she worked as a doctor. In early September 1939 the German Wehrmacht occupied the city. Soon the German administration began to concentrate all the Jews in the poor district, Bałuty. Fany Boruńska was forced to resettle in the ghetto. She is presumed to had been most probably deported to the Chelmno extermination camp probably on 13 May 1942, and murdered with engine exhaust fumes there, shortly after her arrival. Fany Boruńska was 64 years old.
