Olga Löwy

Olga Löwy wurde am 21. Juli 1896 im österreichischen Judenburg geboren. Sie wohnte mit ihrem Mann Siegmund Löwy in Klagenfurt in der Veitstraße 12. Nach dem „Anschluss“ Österreichs an das Deutsche Reich im März 1938 wurden die Bankkonten der Juden konfisziert und ihre Geschäfte „arisiert“. Nach den Zerstörungen und Verhaftungen in der Pogromnacht 1938 flüchteten sich die Meisten nach Wien. Von dort deportierte die SS Olga Löwy vermutlich in ein Ghetto in Polen und danach in ein Vernichtungslager. Die Umstände des Todes von Olga Löwy sind nicht bekannt.

Olga Löwy was born on 21 July 1896 in the Austrian town of Judenburg. She lived with her husband Siegmund Löwy in Klagenfurt, in Veitstraße 12. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich in March 1938, the bank accounts of the Jews were confiscated and their shops “aryanized”. Following the destruction and arrests on the Kristallnacht Pogrom of November 1938, most of them fled to Vienna. From there, the SS deported Olga Löwy, probably to a ghetto in Poland and from there to an extermination camp. The circumstances of Olga Löwy’s death are unknown.
