Abraham Koplowicz

Schüler, geboren 1930 in Lodz/Litzmannstadt/Łódź, ermordet 1944 in Auschwitz-Birkenau (VL)

Abraham Koplowicz wurde am 18. Februar 1930 in der polnischen Industriestadt Lodz geboren. Er war noch Schüler als Anfang September 1939 die Wehrmacht die Stadt besetzte. Kurz danach begann die deutsche Verwaltung mit der Konzentration aller Juden im Armenviertel Bałuty. Auch Abraham Koplowicz musste im Ghetto leben. Bei der Auflösung des Ghettos im August 1944 wurde er in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz Birkenau deportiert und dort kurz nach seiner Ankunft mit Zyklon B ermordet wurde. Abraham Koplowicz war 14 Jahre alt.

Abraham Koplowicz was born on 18 February 1930 in the Polish industrial centre of Lodz. He was still going to school when the Wehrmacht occupied the town in early September 1939. Shortly afterward the German administration began to concentrate all the Jews in the poor district, Bałuty. Abraham Koplowicz was forced to resettle in the ghetto. During the liquidation of the ghetto in August 1944, he was deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp Birkenau, where he was murdered with Zyklon B shortly after his arrival. Abraham Koplowicz was 14 years old.
