Marta Weisz wurde im ungarischen Nyíregyháza geboren. 1930 lebten fast 5.000 Juden in der Stadt. Marta studierte an der Universität. Im März 1944, als sie 18 Jahre alt war, besetzte die Wehrmacht Ungarn. Bereits einen Monat später errichtete die SS ein Ghetto in der Stadt. Alle Juden aus Nyíregyháza und Umgebung wurden dorthin verschleppt. Sehr bald schon drängten sich dort in jedem Haus über 100 Menschen. Im Juni 1944 deportierte die SS sie in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz. Seitdem fehlt jede Spur von Marta Weisz.

Marta Weisz was born in the Hungarian town of Nyíregyháza, which was home to almost 5,000 Jews in 1930. Marta studied at the university there. In March 1944, when she was 18 years old, the Wehrmacht occupied Hungary, and only a month later, the SS set up a ghetto in the city. All Jews from Nyíregyháza and environs were deported there. It was not long before there were more than 100 people crammed into every house. In June 1944, Marta Weisz was among those the SS deported from the ghetto to the Auschwitz extermination camp. She was never seen again.
