Adolf Fettmann

Adolf Fettmann wurde 1875 in Nyir-Bátor geboren. Mit seiner Frau wohnte er im ungarischen Sátoralja-Újhely. Dort lebten mehr als vier Tausend Juden, als am 22. März 1944 die deutsche Wehrmacht einmarschierte. Die SS drängte Adolf Fettmann und weitere 15.000 Juden aus der Stadt und der Umgebung in einem Ghetto zusammen. Im Sommer 1944 wurden vier Transporte in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz organisiert. Adolf Fettmann wurde in einem Viehwaggon getrieben und musste vier Tage ohne Essen und Trinken ausharren. Wahrscheinlich wurde Adolf Fettmann gleich nach der Ankunft in Auschwitz ermordet.

Adolf Fettmann was born in 1875 in Nyir-Bátor. He and his wife lived in the Hungarian town of Sátoralja-Újhely, which was home to more than 4,000 Jews when the German Wehrmacht took the area on 22 March 1944. The SS forced Adolf Fettmann and 15,000 Jews from the city and the surrounding area to live in a ghetto. In the summer of 1944, the SS organized four transports to the Auschwitz extermination camp. Adolf Fettmann forced into a cattle car and had to endure four days without food and drink. It is most likely that Adolf Fettmann was murdered upon his arrival in Auschwitz.
