Évi Gábori

Évi Gábori wohnte in der ungarischen Kleinstadt Celldömölk. Juden lebten dort seit dem frühen 19. Jahrhundert. Im März 1944 besetzte die Wehrmacht das ehemals verbündete Ungarn. Fortan waren die fast 500 jüdischen Einwohner in Celldömölk der systematischen Verfolgung der SS ausgesetzt. Anfang Juni wurden sie nach Sárvár und Jánosháza verschleppt und dort festgehalten. Die SS deportierte sie wenige Tage später in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz. Wahrscheinlich war Évi Gábori eines der Opfer.

Évi Gábori lived in the small Hungarian town of Celldömölk. Jews had lived there since the early 19th century. In March 1944 the German Wehrmacht occuopied the territory of its former ally, Hungary. Immediately the nearly 500 Jews of Celldömölk were subjected to systematic persecution by the SS. In early June they were deported to Sárvár and Jánosháza, and held there for a few days until the SS transferred them to the Auschwitz extermination camp. It is likely that Évi Gábori was one of the victims.
