Rózsi Angyal

Rózsi Angyal lebte in Körmend im Westen Ungarns. Am 19. März 1944 besetzte die Wehrmacht das vormals verbündete Ungarn. Fortan mussten die 300 jüdischen Einwohner von Körmend in einem Ghetto wohnen. Im Juni 1944 wurden sie in das nahe gelegene Szombathely verschleppt und dort festgehalten. Die SS deportierte die Meisten von ihnen noch im selben Monat nach Auschwitz. Fast alle wurden direkt nach der Ankunft mit Giftgas ermordet. Wahrscheinlich war auch Rózsi Angyal unter den Opfern.

Rózsi Angyal lived in Körmend in western Hungary. On 19 March 1944 the German Wehrmacht occupied its former ally, Hungary. Immediately, the 300 Jews of Körmend were forced to live in a ghetto. In June 1944, they were transferred to the nearby Szombathely, where they were held in custody; the SS deported most of them to Auschwitz within the month. Nearly all of them were asphyxiated with poison gas right after their arrival. It is likely that Rózsi Angyal was among the victims.
