Moritz Kaufmann

Moritz Kaufmann wurde am 29. Juni 1885 im rheinländischen Mayen geboren. Später zog er nach Frankfurt am Main. In der Pogromnacht vom 9. auf 10. November 1938 steckten Mitglieder der NSDAP, SS und SA die Frankfurter Synagogen in Brand und demolierten jüdische Geschäfte und Wohnungen. Viele Juden wurden misshandelt und verhaftet, und zum Schluss in das Konzentrationslager Buchenwald verschleppt. Auch Moritz Kaufmann war auch unter den Inhaftierten. Er starb am 18. November 1938 im Konzentrationslager Buchenwald unter ungeklärten Umständen. Moritz Kaufmann wurde 53 Jahre alt.

Moritz Kaufmann was born on 29 June 1885 in the town of Mayen in the Rhineland. He later moved to Frankfurt am Main. On the night of the 9th of November 1938, the night of the nationwide pogroms against Jews, SS and SA men set the Frankfurt Synagogues on fire and destroyed Jewish shops and apartments. Many Jews were also beaten and arrested, and deported to the Buchenwald concentration camp. Moritz Kaufmann was among those arrested. He died in Buchenwald on 18 November 1938, under unexplained circumstances. Moritz Kaufmann was 53 years old.
