Chaia Koritzki

Chaia Koritzki wurde 1926 in der heute litauischen Hauptstadt Wilna geboren. Sie war die Tochter der Näherin Mira Koritzki und des Druckers Wolf Koritzki. Chaia wuchs mit einem jüngeren Bruder heran. Ende Juni 1941 besetzte die deutsche Wehrmacht Wilna und die Familie musste im Ghetto leben. Im Sommer 1943 wurde Chaia Koritzki in das Konzentrationslager Klooga in Estland deportiert. Kurz vor der Befreiung des Lagers durch die Rote Armee ermordeten SS-Männer die Lagerinsassen und verbrannten deren Leichen. Eine der Ermordeten war Chaia Koritzki.

Chaia Koritzki was born in 1926 in Vilnius, now the capital of Lithuania. She was the daughter of a seamstress, Mira Koritzki and a printer, Wolf Koritzki. Chaia had a younger brother. In late June 1941, the German Wehrmacht occupied Vilnius and the family had to move into the ghetto. In the summer of 1943, Chaia Koritzki was deported to Klooga concentration camp in Estonia. Shortly before the Red Army liberated the camp, SS-men murdered its inmates and burned their corpses. Chaia Koritzki was one of the victims.
