Leah Koval-Kavin lebte mit ihrer Familie in Marjampol im Süden Litauens in der historischen Provinz Sudauen. Im Sommer 1941, kurz nach der Besetzung Marjampols durch die deutsche Wehrmacht, wurden die jüdischen Bewohner am Stadtrand von Marjampol zusammen getrieben und in eine ehemalige Kaserne gesperrt. Bald darauf erschossen litauische Hilfspolizisten unter Aufsicht des SS-Einsatzkommandos 3 etwa 8.000 Juden. Vermutlich war auch Leah Koval-Kavin unter den Opfern.

Leah Koval-Kavin lived with her family in the southern Lithuanian town of Marjampolė, in the historical province of Sudovia. In the summer of 1941, shortly after the German Army occupied Marjampolė, the Jewish population was forced to assemble on the outskirts of town, where they were confined to a disused barracks. Then Lithuanian auxiliary police, under the command of SS Mobile Killing Unit 3, shot about 8,000 Jews. It's presumed that Leah Koval-Kavin was among the victims.
