Meyer Kovarzuch

Friseur ermordet 1941 in Marjampol/Marijampole

Meyer Kovarzuch lebte mit seiner Familie in Marjampol im Süden Litauens in der historischen Provinz Sudauen. Er war Friseur von Beruf. Im Sommer 1941, kurz nach der Besetzung Marjampols durch die deutsche Wehrmacht, wurden die jüdischen Bewohner am Stadtrand zusammen getrieben und in eine ehemalige Kaserne gesperrt. Bald darauf erschossen litauische Hilfspolizisten unter Aufsicht des SS-Einsatzkommandos 3 etwa 8.000 Juden. Vermutlich waren auch Meyer Kovarzuch und seine Familie unter den Opfern.

Meyer Kovarzuch lived with his family in Marijampolė in southern Lithuania in the historical province of Sudovia. He was a hairdresser. In the summer of 1941, shortly after the German Army occupied Marijampolė, the Jewish residents were forcibly assembled on the outskirts of the city and confined within a former barracks. Then Lithuanian auxiliary police, under the command of SS Mobile Killing Unit 3, shot about 8,000 Jews. It's likely that Meyer Kovarzuch and his family were among the victims.
