Ida Abramuvitz

Ida Abramuvitz lebte mit ihrem Mann Abraham und einem Kind in Sheludok, einer kleinen Stadt im heutigen Weißrussland, die mehrheitlich von Juden bewohnt war. Im Sommer 1941 besetzte die Wehrmacht die Stadt. Bald darauf musste die Familie Abramuvitz ins Ghetto ziehen. Am 7. Mai 1942 ließ der polnische Bürgermeister auf Befehl des deutschen Gebietskommissars in Sheludok Gruben ausheben. Zwei Tage später erschossen deutsche Kommandos dort 1.400 bis 2.000 Juden. Unter ihnen waren auch Ida Abramuvitz und ihre Familie.

Ida Abramuvitz lived with her husband Abraham and one child in Sheludok, a small town now in Belarus, whose population was mostly Jewish. In the summer of 1941 the town fell into German hands. Soon afterwards, the Abramuvitz family was forced to move into a ghetto. On 7 May 1942, the Polish mayor followed the orders of the regional German commissar to dig pits in Sheludok. Two days later, German commandos shot dead between 1,400 and 2,000 Jews there. Among those murdered were Ida Abramuvitz and her family.
