Abraham Grinhauz

Abraham Grinhauz, wurde 1930 als Sohn von Moshe and Chaya Grinhauz in Włodawa geboren. Unmittelbar nach dem Überfall auf Polen nahmen die Besatzungsbehörden der Familie den Besitz weg. Ein Jahr später musste der 11-jährige Abraham mit seinen Eltern in das Ghetto der Stadt ziehen. Er wurde Zeuge von Massenerschießungen und Deportationen in das Vernichtungslager Sobibor. SS und Polizeikräfte ermordeten bis 1943 fast alle der rund 6000 Juden aus Włodawa. Von Abraham Grinhauz und seiner Familie fehlt seither jede Spur.

Abraham Grinhauz was born in 1930 as the son of Moshe and Chaya Grinhauz in Włodawa. Shortly after Poland was attacked, the occupying authority confiscated the family’s property. One year later, the 11-year-old Abraham had to move into the town’s ghetto with his parents. He witnessed the start of mass shooting operations and deportations to the Sobibor Extermination Camp. By 1943, SS and Police forces had murdered almost all the 6,000 Jews of Włodawa. No trace of Abraham Grinhauz and his family was ever found.
