Sasha Yamaikin

Sasha Yamaikin lebte in der russischen Stadt Simferopol auf der Krim. Er war noch ein Kind, als Anfang November 1941 die deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt eroberte. Einen Monat später am 11. Dezember 1941 begann die systematische Ermordung der Juden. In einem nahe gelegenen Panzergraben erschoss das Sonderkommando 11a unter Mithilfe deutscher Polizisten innerhalb von drei Tagen etwa 13.000 Juden. Unter den Opfern war wahrscheinlich auch der fünfjährige Sasha Yamaikin.

Sasha Yamaikin lived in the Russian city of Simferopol in the Crimea. He was still a child when the German Army conquered the city in early November 1941. One month later, on 11 December 1941, they began their systematic murder of the Jews. Within three days, Special Commando 11a, with assistance from German police, shot about 13,000 Jews in a nearby anti-tank ditch. It is likely that the five-year-old Sasha Yamaikin was among the victims.
