Vilya Daniman

Vilya Daniman wurde in Simferopol, der Hauptstadt der Krim, geboren. Am 1. November 1941 eroberte die Deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt. Er wurde 2 Jahre alt.

Vilya Daniman was born in Simferopol, the capital of Crimea. On 1 November 1941, the German Wehrmacht occupied the city. Many of Simferopol’s 20,000 Jews had managed to flee before the Germans arrived, but many other Jewish refugees poured in from other towns. On 11 December, the mass shootings began. Within three days, the Special Commando 11a, with help from a battalion of order police, murdered nearly 13,000 Jews. It is likely that Vilya Daniman was among the victims. He was 2 years old.
