Chaja Rivka Sumowicz wurde 1910 im polnischen Sokoły am Fluss Narew geboren. Sie war Mitglied der Theatergruppe der zionistischen Jugendorganisation Betar. Im Sommer 1941 besetzte die Wehrmacht den Ort. Um der drohenden Deportation zu entgehen flohen viele Juden in die umliegenden Wälder. Die Verbliebenen wurden von Einsatzgruppen der SS und Polizei in das Vernichtungslager Treblinka verschleppt und mit Motorabgasen vergiftet. Von Chaja Rivka Sumowicz fehlt seitdem jede Spur. Sie war 32 Jahre alt.

Chaja Rivka Sumowicz was born in 1910 in the Polish town of Sokoły, on the River Narew. She was a member of the theatre troupe, the Zionist youth organization Betar. In the summer of 1941 the Wehrmacht occupied the town. Many Jews fled into surrounding forests to escape deportation. The SS and police seized those who had stayed behind and deported them to the Treblinka Extermination Camp, where they poisoned them with engine exhaust fumes. Chaja Rivka Sumowicz was never seen again. She was 31 years old.
