Bertha Antmann

Bertha Antmann wurde etwa 1877 in Ungarn geboren. Nach ihrer Heirat lebte sie mit ihrem Mann Adolf und fünf Söhnen in Nitra, einer slowakischen Stadt die damals noch zu Ungarn gehörte. Die Familienangehörigen sprachen miteinander deutsch, beherrschten aber auch ungarisch, slowakisch und tschechisch. Bertha Antmann und drei ihrer Söhne wurden im April 1942 in das Konzentrationslager Lublin-Majdanek verschleppt. Von dort gelangte Bertha Antmann in ein etwa dreißig Kilometer entferntes Nebenlager, wo sie bald darauf unter ungeklärten Umständen starb. Sie wurde etwa 65 Jahre alt.

Bertha Antmann was born in around 1877 in Hungary. After her marriage, she lived with her husband Adolf and their five sons in Nitra, a Slovakian town that then belonged to Hungary. Though the family spoke German together, they also spoke fluent Hungarian, Slovakian and Czech. Bertha Antmann and three of her sons were deported in April 1942 to the concentration camp Lublin-Majdanek. From there, Bertha Antmann ended up in a satellite camp about 30 kilometres away, where she soon died in unexplained circumstances. She was about 65 years old.
